The Commissioning Support Programme has
developed a range of training offers to meet the needs of all
stakeholders working across children's services. There
are three offers which can be described as follows:
Commissioning Development Programme - a suite
of training materials designed to help all stakeholders in
children’s services better understand commissioning. This is open
to commissioners, providers, senior managers, practitioners and
voluntary sector providers. The training materials expand the 18
modules of the
Achieving Better Outcomes: Commissioning in Children’s Services
document and can be used in a bespoke way to suit the needs of
different audiences. The materials are freely available to download
and be used by anyone. The Commissioning Support Programme can
provide a one-day event to give people advice on how they can use
the training materials with others within their own organisations.
This offer is non-accredited.
Commissioning Skills Training - this is a
course designed specifically for commissioners within Children's
Trusts to help them deliver commissioning skills training locally
to their colleagues. This course is potentially accredited and
includes an option for commissioners to initially deliver the
programme to their Trust jointly with the Commissioning Support
Programme.
Lead Member Workshops - a programme of support
for Children's Services Lead Members within Local Authorities
sponsored by the DCSF. These workshops will be jointly delivered by
the Commissioning Support Programme and the IDeA.
